Classic Jets Band of Volunteers

Museums the world over just couldn't exist if it wasn't for the volunteer members. They work on projects, operate the museum and liase with the visiting public with enthusiasm and their reward being satisfaction of a job well done.

It's the same at Classic Jets Fighter Museum, where over six years of work has gone into changing a wrecked P38 Lightning to an Aircraft so well restored, it appears capable of flight. Financial constraints preclude this from happening. However the Lightning has been saved and the Museum Volunteers pushed the Aircraft out into the sunshine for the first time on Sunday, 2nd April 2006.

The restoration of this beautiful Fighter Aircraft is an achievement the volunteers at Classic Jets Fighter Museum can all be extremely proud of.
